Energy efficient renovations

On May 27, 2021, the federal government revealed the details for the Canada Greener Homes Grant, a financial assistance for homeowners who are renovating to make their homes both more energy efficient and more comfortable. $2.6 billion over seven years, starting in 2020-2021, will be provided to Natural Resources Canada

In Quebec, owners will have to register for the Rénoclimat program to benefit from this subsidy.

What does this initiative offer?

• Up to 700,000 grants of a maximum amount of $5000 each to help homeowners make energy-efficient renovations to their homes, such as improving the ventilation system.
• EnerGuide assessments (up to $600) and expert advice for homeowners so they can start planning their renovations.
• Recruitment and training of EnerGuide energy efficiency advisors to meet growing demands, which will also create new jobs across Canada.

Goals:

• Share information about the Canada Greener Homes Grant program.
• Provide information on homeowners eligibility, eligible measures and subsidies available to homeowners.
• Listen to your opinions and questions, and work together to make this initiative a success.
• Provide information on the next steps following the launch of this initiative

Conditions of admission:

• Canadian eligible homeowners can participate in the initiative regardless of where they live.
• Perform an evaluation by Rénoclimat.
• Perform at least one renovation that is both eligible and recommended by your energy advisor in his report.
• Only owners who carry out at least one renovation will be reimbursed.
  
  

Provide copies of all your documents and retain them until March 31, 2028.
