Who doesn’t like to save money? Whether or not you are on a limited budget, everyone wants to save on their bills. Did you know that there are government funded programs for the purchase and installation of a heat pump in your home? Among these initiatives is the Efficient Heat Pumps program.

Efficient Heat Pumps Program

This program provides a subsidy for the installation of an eligible heat pump. Your heat pump can be used as a heating system as well as an air conditioning system, but the amount of financial assistance varies depending on the heating power in winter conditions of the installed system.

You receive $50 for every thousand BTUs of heating at -8°C.  For example, for a Gree mini-block heat pump, you can receive up to $775.

Financial assistance from Hydro-Québec

Committed to saving energy, Hydro-Québec has taken over the heat pump chapter of the Chauffez vert program once offered by the The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Hydro-Québec is now providing financial assistance for the installation of an eligible heat pump.

The installation of this type of device is part of the Government of Quebec’s Plan for a Green Economy 2030. 

Admissibility

To be eligible for the Efficient Heat Pumps program, the devices must be on the list of eligible heat pumps and have been installed by a company that holds a licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, such as Lysair.

You cannot get financial assistance from other programs, such as Rénoclimat, for the same heat pump. However, you can take advantage of other Hydro-Québec or Government of Québec programs for other eligible work.
